Fall 2010

Been a while since we have posted here on my blog. Time for an update!

Back in school! Loving It!!! Mrs. Ferguson is so cool. My class is HUGE at 26 kids. I have lots of friends from Kindergarten in my class too.

I have been reading chapter books which I am really proud of! Mom says I didn't give myself much credit cause I was scared to read long books prior to now. I am reading Ready Freddy books. Still needing to get more Magic Treehouse books. Think I have 1-16.

We are getting ready for Halloween and I am really excited to show off my costume! It is awesome.

Dancing still but decided that I want to go in a new direction. I am taking hip hop and have learned how to do the "worm", the "Coffee grinder" and stalls. Mom says she will try to get a video of me doing them to post them. I practiced the stall (Kind of a head/elbow stand) the first night they taught it and I did it!!!!! Very well actually! My dance teacher is getting me a ring pop for learning it so fast!

Doing Tavaci Singers again this year too. Everyone will have to make it to a performance of two this year!

I am adorable, huh?!!!

School is almost over and it is warming up outside. I have had a great year! I have made more friends and have had another awesome teacher. I reached my AR goal of 300 points which is the highest mark they have this year. At 300 points, 600 books, I get the award of being the principal for a day. We worked hard to finish up the last 30 books but with the help and support or my parents and everyone else, I got it done. I have had A's all year and we learned that I am reading at a 3rd grade level when in 1st grade and am in the 93 percentile of that 3rd grade reading level. I love the feeling I get from doing great!

Dance is almost done. I have 1 last performance and then I am taking a year off! I have been doing it for 3 years now and think I need to take a break to decide if it is something I really want to do. If I do come back next year, I will probably go into hip hop instead of Jazz. I will probably miss it and am sad to be leaving.

I have been singing too and we had our final performance on May 4th. It was fun and I am planning on going back next year. The teacher is a blast and she makes it really exciting.

Normally we would have something stuffed up our sleeves for the summer but not this year. We have been so busy for the last 3 years that I think Mom might be a little worn out and maybe Me too. I am going to join a reading club thing at the public library but more for fun then anything. I can win prizes and free stuff. I did it last year with Grandma Karen and this year mom is going to be a bit more involved. We go to the library every Wednesday and return the books I have read and get more. It has been fun and mom realized that she loves to take me!

Well, there is an update! Let's hope mom can update it more this summer! Not like she won't have a little more time on her hands! : )

Parent Teacher Conferences

Today was Parent/Teacher Conferences.

I really am an amazing little girl!

I am of the top in my class. I am flying through Math with 5/5. My reading is a 5/5 and spelling just started before the end of the term but I am at a 100% there also. My teacher told my mom that she is really impressed with me. I am an exceptional student. Mom laughs at me cause I was reading during my Halloween party at school every chance I got. When Mom asked my teacher about it she said that is common for me. The teacher also said that I have EXCELLENT penmanship. She is very impressed!

Mom says....

I am very proud of Miss Mae. Even with her busy schedule she has set for herself she is still doing so well in school. When she sets her mind to something she works hard at reaching those goals. She absolutely loves it. She really has to drive to be at her best.

Kaebree hounded me about taking Piano and after talking with Grandma Karen we figured that we would give it a try. Matt's Grandpa Dixon taught him when was little and we figured we would ask if he would be willing to teach Kaebree. He accepted and so once a week she goes to Piano lessons at his house. She is really moving along. She just loves it.

So, recap of how amazing this little girl is..... Doing GREAT in school, 2nd top reader in class, piano, dance and singing! I get tired trying to keep up with her. I am a VERY PROUD PARENT!

It's that time again!!

School started August 24th. First Grade is pretty cool. I have 3 recesses! The full school day thing is a little different but I have been handling it just fine! I have 3 other kids from my Kindergarten class in my class. Oh... And Mr. Hottie Hot is in my class! My teacher is a pretty little young thing. She is really nice! (I will get pictures up later of first day of school!)

The summer is done and so begins all the activities I just love doing! I changed my mind about quitting dance. (Spring is when my migraines began and I didn't feel good most of the time and wasn't into my things anymore! Now that I am feeling better I am roaring and ready to go.) So, Dance again. This year I will be in Pre-Team. I am really excited! I also changed singing groups this year. I will be in the Tavaci Singers. (Nicole was in them last year and we went and saw her final show and it was so cool and looked like so much fun!) I am also harassing my mom about Piano lessons. I want to play the piano. She is SLOWLY working on it. Cross your fingers for me!!

Oh yeah.... We now have frogs. These are not full time pets though. We may keep a couple in the end but not all of them! We went camping and found a little swamp. As we walked up to the swamp we saw the water ripple! Mom walked down and caught a tadpole. So, we ended up catching 40 tadpoles and took them home. We took 20 and Kara took the other 20. Amazingly and luckily, not a single one died! Within a week we had tadpoles with arms. The tails absorbed into their bodies and at this point in time we have only 3 tadpoles left. It was fun watching them change. They are now in a big tank and they really do have long tongues that grab fruit flies really quick! I can even hold them as long as I wash my hands really well before and after. We are going to wait just a little bit longer and then release them up at Great Grandma's House in Menan, by her little pond! Them little critters STINK!

Lets just hope mom gets some pictures posted soon! Bet you're all tired of looking at the Texas trip pictures! (Grandma Lady Bug... If you are reading this, speaking of Texas, when are my starfish gonna get here?) I have a new shell fetish that I got from my grandma in Texas.

Trip to Texas

So, we went to Texas to see Grandma and Grandpa and to go to Sea World. It was sooooo fun. While everyone was dying cause of the heat I was basking in it. I loved the heat, Yeah, I am a little crazy. We went to the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth. That was oh so cool. Gardens and gardens galore. There was a pond with TONS of turtles in it. Went to the Japanese Gardens and that was really neat. There were ponds with big ole fish in it.

I found a new favorite word being with all the southerners. "Y'all" My mom was laughing cause I picked up a little twang to my voice while I was there. Here are some pics from our trip.

We also went to the Alamo. There was a guy their that told the story of the Alamo. Mom and Matt were in awe with me. I was so interested. I listened and really got into seeing all the displays and models. I was a sponge for all the history. I really enjoyed it.

Afterwards we went across the street to Ripley's Haunted Adventure. Thinking it was like a museum of haunted things.... We were sadly mistaken. It was a ride and I cried the entire time. After it was done and we were on the elevator out- I snapped. I was screaming in the elevator about them not letting me out. It was not fun!

We went through the River walk in San Antonio also and had dinner. We ate at this place called Dick's. You really have to have a sense of humor in there. They makes you hats and you have to wear them the entire time you are there or they may make you another one. Mine was so embarrassing.

Sea World was awesome. We got to feed dolphins. See Sharks. Penguins. The Budweiser horses. They are extremely large horse. I had a carticapture drawn of me as a mermaid. We saw huge aquariums with a lot of fish in them. It was so much fun. Then we got to see Shamu. They splashed everyone but we were a little too high up and didn't get wet. We went to the later show and sat right up front so Matt and I could get wet. Grandma got a little wet, Matt and I got kinda wet and we turned and looked at mom and she was dripping wet, It was so funny! I got to ride this log ride. I loved it. We rode another water ride where everyone got really wet. It was a blast. Grandpa Smyth got really wet on that one.

Then we went to the Forth Worth Zoo. One of the top 5 largest zoos in the United States. It was huge and pretty cool. I really wasn't into the zoo as much. We were going to go to Six Flags but after Sea world, we wanted to avoid heat and long lines. So, we went to the zoo instead. Still hot and all day in the sun but there were a lot of animals. We spent a lot of time in the amphibian exhibit. Matt and me took our time looking at everything. One last picture. I made a friend.

As many of you already know, We have a zoo.

This is Dizzy FON. Ask me what FON means. She spins, and spins and spins. All the time.

This is Jake. I really love Jakers. He is MY dog. He sleeps in my bedroom with me and ends up sharing my bed. Silly Dog.
This charming little queen Meow is Spazz. She fetches. Crazy huh!
This handsome little Devil is Teddy! He is soooooo fun! I wanted a white ferret with Red eyes and my mom said they are freaky looking. He won us over though. So, now I am the proud owner of little Teddy here. He is out little trouble maker!

This would be Dolly, as in the Dolly Ferret. She is our lovey one. She is as soft as a bunny! (Ferrets normally have course hair) She is hiding!

So, there you saw it. Not pictured are Sadie (A Ferret that looks just like Dolly), Thump, a big ole White rabbit in the back yard and Piddens (a stray cat that has adopted us and lives on our front porch)

A day at the Spa.

Kara and I had a girls night. My skin was really tight! Mom was talking about needing some cucumbers too. I was really confused.

MUCH NEEDED UPDATE!

Mom wants to apologize! She has been HORRIBLE at keeping up on my page! So, watch over the next week for lots of catch up posts!

To Kick them off though....
I have so much new things going on. I am still in Dance and loving it. I can do my "Soak up the Sun" dance by heart. Don't need to watch the teacher for cues. I get to perform my Tap dance for the first time tomorrow at the Mall. YEAH!!!

I have also won the war over a singing class. (I have wanted to do singing for about 2 years now and Mom finally caved) So, I am in the Childrens Upbeat Choir. It has been fun so far. I have only been doing it for a few weeks.

Still loving school. DOING VERY WELL. The only thing that I am struggling with is my address. I knew it once upon a time, but it keeps losing digits. I know my moms phone number and Grandma Karens phone numbers. Still working on Daddy's and Matt's though.

Oh yeah, I have 3 loose teeth. The two bottom front teeth and one of my front top teeth. I don't really like to wiggle them much though. One of the bottom ones has been loose for weeks with no progress.

We got 2 new ferrets. Pictures will be posted soon. This time I have my own. His name is Teddy and he is white with RED eyes. I love it. He is so fiesty and playful. We had to get another one cause our one was so lonely that he was not eating since we lost the other one in January. (SO VERY SAD- I MISS BUDDAH SO MUCH) We drove to Utah and adopted these from a ferret rescue shelter and they had to come as a pair. They are fun fun though!

Festival of Trees 2008

I have been itching for some entertainment! Or, should I say, I have been itching to entertain!

It's year 2 of Dance and Wow! Everyone is soooooo impressed with how well I can dance and this year I sure do give it a whirl!!

Kaebree is putting so much more time and energy into this years dance class. I told her that she was doing soooo good and she said that she likes it better this year cause her song is like a barbie song. A barbie song huh?! She then told me that it is a funner song then her last year songs. So, here is to "Barbie" songs.

Can you see me?

The thing about Fall is... That I love to play in the big pile of leaves our tree leaves on the ground! I have a tree that we tied a rope too and Addie and I swing from the tree and land in the leaves. It is SOOOOOO much fun!

Soccer season over.

Soccer is over, we played hard, even though I got hurt game after game after game, I really had fun! I love doing things with my best friend Nic and our next session of swimming lessons is right around the corner!

I really likes being the goalie. Did you know that only the goalie can touch the ball? Gives my legs a break!

Going on a ride!

For my birthday I got a new 4 wheeler. Within 5 Hours I was ready to go off jumps. (Small jumps) I just couldn't wait to take her for an actual ride somewhere other then our campsite. ( but the campsite was really big and it was actually pretty fun.) So, my mommy thought this video was really cute cause... well, you'll see. We like to call it...

Now quick note on the video. As you saw, I watched Matt go off the jump! I am a little bit of a crazy one! You can't hear me say it but can see my hand actions, I want to go on that jump with him!! So, the first time he didn't hit it right and didn't take the jump for my safety. The second time was really fun. The "pull the tire up off the ground" (wheelie) at the end of the video was my idea also.

**Disclaimer**Please don't worry though. We make sure that we practice safety and Matt would never do an extreme trick with me on the bike with him or anything else that could cause me harm!

Update on Soccer

I really love soccer. I played my first game last week and my team made a goal. I had a blast. My adoring fans game to cheer me on! (Mom & Matt, Daddy, and Grandma & Grandpa Nebeker! Mom is going to record this weeks game and post a bit on my blog for all to see!
I also get to play soccer with my best friend Nic. It is great!

Dance, Dance, Dance the night away.

Kaebree had a recital at one of the local retirement homes. She was really excited cause they got to perfom both dances that they learned and this is the first tme that she gets to perform her tap dance. Her only complaint is that she is on the carpet and it doesn't make the tap noises. She is in front of a window/door and it's just that time of the day, so, you'll have to forgive me there.
